The auction for the construction of a solar power plant, which ends this year, closed with the maximum price reduction over the past five days
On November 29, 2023, the fifth auction for the selection of projects for the construction of a solar power plant took place. The auction was held for the Southern zone of the UES RK with a total installed capacity of 20 MW.
12 companies were allowed to participate in the auction, 32 price proposals were submitted by the participants during the trading session. The total volume of applications submitted amounted to 170.001 MW. The starting maximum auction price during the auction for the selection of SPP projects in 2023 was 34.61 tg/kWh (excluding VAT).
During the trading session, the price range of bids received from auction participants ranged from 34.61 to 13.89 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT).
The price decrease from the starting auction price was 59.86%, which is the maximum decrease over the past five days of bidding for the selection of SPP projects.
According to the results of the auction, the winner was determined by the company – LLP «DALA SOLAR», the installed capacity of the project is 20 MW, the auction price is 13.89 tg/kWh (without VAT). The project is planned to be placed in the Turkestan region.
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, NCE «Atameken», ALE «Kazakhstan Association of Regional Environmental Initiatives «ECOJER» and the EBRD took part as observers. Observers noted full compliance with regulatory legal acts on the organization and conduct of auction auctions in the electronic trading system of the auction organizer.
It should be noted that according to the Auction Schedule, 5 auctions were held this year according to the type of SPP, with a total installed capacity of 100 MW. According to the results of the SPP-type auctions, the price was reduced more than twice from the starting price, and the lowest price was 13.89 tg/Kwh (excluding VAT).
The next auction, which ends this year, is scheduled for November 30, 2023 for the selection of projects for the construction of a BioPP with a total installed capacity of 10 MW for all zones of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
