On November 27, 2023, RES auctions were held to select projects for the construction of a solar power plant for the Southern Zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a total installed capacity of 20 MW.

8 companies were allowed to participate in the auction, 45 price offers were submitted by the participants during the trading session. The total volume of applications submitted was 110.001 MW. The starting maximum auction price was 34.61 tg/kWh (excluding VAT).

During the trading session, the price range of bids received The decrease in the price from the starting auction price for the selection of projects for the construction of SPP, amounted to 49.89%.

According to the results of the auction, the winner was determined by the company – LLP «Horsa», the installed capacity of the project is 10.001 MW, the auction price is 17.34 tg/kWh (without VAT). The project is planned to be placed in Zhambyl region.

Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, NCE «Atameken», ALE «Kazakhstan Electric Power Association», ALE «KAZENERGY» and USAID took part as observers. Observers noted the full transparency of the electronic trading system of the auction organizer – JSC «KOREM».

The next auction is scheduled for November 28, 2023 for the selection of projects for the construction of SPP with a total installed capacity of 20 MW for the Southern zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
