On November 24, 2023, auctions for renewable energy for the Northern and Southern zones of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the selection of hydroelectric power projects with a total installed capacity of 200 MW were held.

According to the results of the trading session, 11 companies were allowed to participate in the auction, 99 price offers were submitted by the participants during the trading session. The declared total capacity from the auction participants amounted to 269.51 MW.

In accordance with subparagraph 1) paragraph 55 of the Rules for the organization and conduct of auctions, the volume of selection of installed capacity increased from 200 to 206.01 MW.

The starting maximum auction price during the auction for the selection of HPP projects in 2023 was 41.23 tg/kWh (excluding VAT).

During the trading session, the price range of bids received from auction participants ranged from 41.23 to 34.8 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT).

According to the results of the auction , the following companies were identified as winners:

• LLP «Zharyk Su LTD» the installed capacity of the project is 33.1 MW, the auction price is 34.8 tg/kWh (without VAT);
• LLP «DALA SOLAR» the installed capacity of the project is 10.01 MW, the auction price is 34.81 tg/kWh (without VAT);
• LLP «MT I K» the installed capacity of the project is 15 MW, the auction price is 34.9 tg/kWh (without VAT);
• LLP«Baskan Power» the installed capacity of the project is 14.9 MW, the auction price is 35.01 tg/kWh (without VAT);
• LLP «Bekzat» the installed capacity of the project is 12.8 MW, the auction price is 35.3 tg/kWh (without VAT);
• LLP «EnergoBildService» the installed capacity of the project is 42 MW, the auction price is 35.32 tg/kWh (without VAT);
• LLP «Alt Energy» the installed capacity of the project is 10.2 MW, the auction price is 35.33 tg/kWh (without VAT);
• LLP «Taraz greenpower genko» the installed capacity of the project is 18 MW, the auction price is 35.8 tg/kWh (without VAT);
• LLP «TURGUSUN-2» the installed capacity of the project is 50 MW, the auction price is 38.99 tg/kWh (without VAT).

Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, NCE «Atameken», the Kazakhstan Electric Power Association, the Asian Development Bank and USAID took part in the auction as observers. Observers noted the full transparency of the electronic trading system of the auction organizer – JSC «KOREM».

It should be noted that the auction for the type of HPP with a total installed capacity of 200 MW was played again, since the auction previously held (on September 01 of this year) was declared invalid.
